Prohandicap

Prohandicap is a non-profit association based in Jirkov, Czech Republic working on disability, children & youth.

Spolek Prohandicap Jirkov is a Czech association that cares for children with disabilities in Jirkov and the surrounding area. Its main activity is transporting children with specific developmental disabilities to primary schools in Chomutov and Jirkov, and to day centres and vocational schools. It also runs integration and leisure activities for the children, such as trips, school-year celebrations and events with partner organisations, and supports contact between the children and public institutions to reduce social exclusion. Funding comes from public collections, parental contributions and a subsidy from the City of Jirkov. The association runs volunteer activities for its clients.
