Prop e.V. (Verein für Prävention, Jugendhilfe und Suchttherapie) is a non-profit association founded in Munich in 1970. It works in addiction treatment and counselling, prevention, youth welfare and harm reduction, serving people with substance problems, their relatives, and young people in difficult life situations. Its services include addiction counselling centres, a drug emergency service and night shelter in Munich, outpatient and inpatient therapy, supported housing, therapeutic communities, social therapy, external addiction counselling in Bavarian prisons, and youth and family education support. Most of its work is in Bavaria, mainly in Munich, Freising, Erding and Pfaffenhofen. Funding comes largely from public bodies and health insurers, supplemented by donations and fines allocated by courts.
