REFUNITE is a non-profit technology organisation that helps refugees and displaced people reconnect with missing family members. It operates a free online global database of over one million profiles, allowing users to search for and communicate with loved ones through a mobile phone, computer or free help lines. The platform is made available for free in 17 countries through a service partnership, and the organisation runs projects in Kenya, South Sudan, Somalia, Jordan, Iraq and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Its work is supported by long-standing partnerships with Ericsson, mobile network operators and the United Nations, which help it address family separation among forcibly displaced populations.
