Rette dein Huhn

Founded in 2015, Rette dein Huhn is a non-profit association based in Hundsheim, Austria working on animal welfare.

Rette dein Huhn is an Austrian registered association that rescues end-of-lay laying hens from commercial egg production and rehomes them with private keepers in cruelty-free living places. Hens are typically around 16 months old when they are taken from farms before slaughter. The association also runs PIPILAND, a sanctuary and shelter in Lower Austria for birds that cannot be rehomed, and a sponsorship scheme that funds the care of these animals. Its work includes rehoming roosters, providing general information on poultry keeping, and raising public awareness of the welfare of laying hens. All work is carried out by volunteers, and the association is funded by private donations and does not receive public support. It rehomes birds within Austria only.
