SAMAKY Organization is a local non-governmental organisation based in Kampot Province, Cambodia. It was founded by Dr. Ok Aing Kim and was recognised by the Cambodian Ministry of Interior in 2001. SAMAKY aims to empower communities to improve living conditions with dignity, with a focus on vulnerable groups including women, people with disabilities, children and youth. Its work covers education, healthcare, small business and livelihood development, climate change adaptation, natural resource protection and capacity building. Its Khmer Ocean Life project focuses on marine conservation, including research into marine mammal bycatch and community engagement along the coast. The organisation works with local authorities, community members and partners, and operates from Kampot, Kampong Cham and other provinces. Its strategic goals for 2019 onwards focus on improving living conditions for families in Kampot Province.
