samara is an Austrian association based in Vienna that works on the prevention of violence, with a focus on children, young people and gender-specific violence in the context of honour norms. Its work includes workshop series for girls and boys in schools and out-of-school education institutions, counselling and crisis interventions, training and advice for teachers, educators and psychosocial professionals, and the development of methods handbooks and short films made with young people. It has run pilot and implementation projects across several Austrian federal states and participates in the Wiener Netzwerk gegen sexuelle Gewalt. samara is recognised by the tax authority as a charitable institution, so donations are tax-deductible.
