About
Founded in 2024, Science Media Centre All Ireland is a non-profit organisation based in Dublin, Ireland working on science & research.
The Science Media Centre All Ireland is an independent press office that works to increase the breadth, depth and quality of science reporting across the island of Ireland. It connects journalists with expert scientists, providing rapid reactions to breaking news and expert roundups on new research, and promotes expert voices from the scientific community to the news media. It was established in 2024 as a one-year pilot by the UK Science Media Centre, hosted at Airfield Estate in south Dublin, and became an independent organisation in its own right after the pilot ended on 1 June 2025. It is funded by donations from scientific institutions, public organisations, charities, universities and corporate organisations, and states that it makes its editorial decisions independently of its funders.
