science2public is a non-profit association based in Halle (Saale), Germany, founded in 2007 and dedicated to science communication. It aims to bring research and society together to shape a shared future and to meet the challenges of change. Its work is participatory and citizen-oriented, and it seeks to make science accessible to everyone, including people who have little prior access to knowledge. The association runs the Make Science Halle citizen science ship on the Saale, the Science Cube competence centre for science communication and transformation, and the Open Academy, which trains science communicators. It also coordinates the Blaues Band der Wissenschaft network of universities, the state and the city, takes part in the Smart City Halle digital education initiative, and sits on the city's education council. Its activities extend beyond the region through national projects such as the Foresight Festivals and KIundWir conventions, and it is a regional partner of the SILBERSALZ science and media festival. Its focus areas include climate-neutral transformation, sustainability communication and foresight, and youth and student training in science communication.
