The ScienceCenter-Netzwerk is a non-profit association based in Vienna, Austria, founded in 2005. It works to make science accessible, tangible and usable for all people through interactive, hands-on science communication. The association acts as the competence centre for interactive science communication in Austria and coordinates a nationwide network of around 190 partner organisations from education, research, art, culture and museums. Its activities include developing and evaluating science centre activities, running pop-up science spaces such as the Wissensraum, delivering training and continuing education for science communicators and teachers, conducting research on interactive science communication, and running workshops in libraries, schools and prisons. Its work is focused on innovation culture, educational equity and dialogue between science and society, with programmes on gender equity in STEM and climate and sustainability topics. The network has no membership, and funding comes from public grants, donations and corporate partnerships.
