About

Founded in 2022, SeaChange Indonesia is a non-profit association based in Münster, Germany working on nature & wildlife conservation, environment & climate, science & research +2 more.

SeaChange Indonesia is a non-profit association working on coral reef ecosystem conservation and marine outreach in Indonesia. Its registered office is in Münster, Germany, and its field work is based on Gili Asahan and in the Sekotong marine park area of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The organisation restores reefs by transplanting coral fragments onto artificial reef structures, monitors coral health with research partners, and supports reforestation, mangrove planting and beach clean-ups. It works with local fishermen, communities, schools and universities, and runs volunteer programmes that combine diving, conservation work and education. Founded officially in May 2022 by Dr. Alexandra Indra Seifert and Jake Langford, who have been active in the region for many years, the association states that it works to involve local communities and businesses in long-term conservation. Donors can sponsor an individual coral, which is planted on a reef frame and tracked with updates. The association states that its activities are charitable and tax-privileged under German law.
