Selbst.Los! Kulturstiftung Annelie & Wilfried Stascheit is a public, legally independent foundation based in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany, founded in 2007 by Annelie Löber-Stascheit and Wilfried Stascheit. It pursues exclusively and directly charitable purposes in arts, culture and education. The foundation supports associations, cultural institutions and educational centres, as well as projects with social or political relevance that combine artistic-cultural approaches with innovative, participatory teaching methods. It also provides funding and advice to projects in their start-up phase. Its work currently focuses mainly on the Ruhr region, while it can also operate internationally, with projects listed in Burkina Faso, Malawi and Paraguay. The foundation is the main funder of the documentary film festival doxs! ruhr, which is organised by Freunde der Realität e.V. for young audiences. Other activities include support for children's reading, school construction and music workshops. Donations are used for the foundation's statutory purposes.
