About
Founded in 1968, Seljord Kunstforening is a non-profit association based in Seljord, Norway working on arts & culture.
Seljord Kunstforening is a volunteer-run art association founded in 1968 in Seljord, Telemark, Norway. It runs the Kunstlåven, a converted former barn and farm building used as an art gallery, café and event venue. Each year the association organises a summer art exhibition, which has been open to the public for decades, and presents exhibitions of contemporary art and crafts. It also maintains a permanent art collection of over 550 works, lends parts of it to public buildings such as schools and offices, and archives exhibition posters. The association works to preserve and promote good art and craftsmanship for art and culture enthusiasts in the district. Its building has been renovated since 2023, and the venue is rented out for concerts, courses, lectures and private events. The association is run by volunteers and has no permanent staff.
