Shankar Prasad Foundation runs Shankar Prasad Ashram, a Satyananda Yoga ashram and organic farm in Bankikodla village, about 5 km from Gokarna on the Karnataka coast. The ashram offers yoga classes, Yoga Nidra courses, retreats and teacher training, and is run on seva (selfless service) and donations. Community projects include the Muddu Play School for local children, a dog sterilization and anti-rabies camp with Mission Rabies and WVS India, a waste management initiative, and employment and workshops for local women. The foundation also runs an organic farm of about two acres of rice, groundnuts, coconut, fruit and vegetables, grown without pesticides. The foundation is a Public Charitable Trust registered under the Indian Income Tax Act.
