The Sozialdienst katholischer Frauen e.V. Augsburg (SkF Augsburg) is a Catholic women's welfare association and specialist body of the Deutscher Caritasverband, active in Augsburg and the surrounding region since 1912. It supports women, families, children, young people and older people in difficult life situations, regardless of worldview, nationality or denomination. Its work covers child and youth welfare, support for women and families, elderly care, counselling, and support for homeless and formerly incarcerated women. Services are delivered through 17 facilities, including women's refuges, residential groups, childcare centres, a senior care home and counselling centres. The association is run by an elected volunteer board, with a professional managing director handling day-to-day operations. It is funded through donations, membership contributions and its own services, and it engages in social policy advocacy on women's and family issues.
