It aims to improve the quality of life of people with reduced mobility and to help them remain at home. It lends, delivers, repairs and maintains therapeutic and assistive equipment, and offers consultation, information and technical aid services. Its equipment is partly covered by the Caisse Nationale de Santé and the long-term care insurance (Assurance Dépendance) when prescribed. SMA also runs a 24-hour breakdown service for oxygen concentrators and a technical service that visits homes for repairs. It operates from Livange, Luxembourg.
