SpareBank 1 Stiftelsen BV is an independent public-benefit savings bank foundation based in Buskerud and Vestfold, Norway. It was established in January 2017 through the merger of SpareBank 1 BV and SpareBank 1 Nøtterøy-Tønsberg. It is the long-term owner of SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge ASA, holding about 8.7% of the shares, and distributes part of its annual returns as gifts to public-benefit purposes in its region. Gifts are awarded through open application rounds for clubs and associations, larger project gifts, agreement-based gifts and campaigns. Priority areas include children and young people, inclusion, sport and outdoor activities, culture and heritage, local community development, education and research, environment and public health. The foundation is governed by a board and a general assembly of nine members and five deputies.
