Sparebankstiftelsen Modum is an independent, non-profit foundation established in 2020 in connection with SpareBank 1 Modum's acquisition of Brannkassa i Modum. It is an owner of SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge and gives cash grants from the dividends on its shares to public-benefit projects in Modum, Sigdal and Krødsherad in Norway. Its grant schemes include project grants, community grants (breddegaver), agreement-based grants and seasonal grants. Priority goes to projects benefiting children and young people, local engagement and community development, and culture, sport and physical activity, competence building and humanitarian inclusion. The foundation does not fund ordinary operations such as rent or salaries, commercial activity, or statutory public-sector duties, and it does not sponsor in exchange for advertising. It has given grants since 2020 and publishes its recipients.
