About

Founded in 2016, Stiftung Valentina is a grant-making foundation based in Germany working on health, children & youth.

Stiftung Valentina is a German foundation, established in 2016 by the family of Valentina Peter after her death from a bone tumour at age 13. It supports seriously and terminally ill children and their families so they can spend their remaining time at home. Its main focus is financing and supporting the mobile paediatric palliative care team PalliKJUR, a cooperation with the Uniklinik Ulm that covers seven districts in southern Germany between Freiburg and Munich, with regional branches in Schwäbisch Hall and Ravensburg. Support funds staff, 24-hour on-call services, vehicles, medical equipment and other resources not covered by standard health insurance. The foundation operates as a sub-foundation of the Bürgerstiftung Kreis Ravensburg, which handles its administration pro bono, so that donations go fully to the project. Its team works on a volunteer basis. Funding comes from individual donations, monthly supporter memberships, legacies, in-kind and service donations, corporate partnerships, and fundraising events. The foundation also runs awareness work on paediatric palliative care through media, publications and public events.
