The World of NGOs

Founded in 1997, The World of NGOs is a non-profit network based in Wien, Austria working on democracy & civil society, human rights, refugees & migration.

The World of NGOs is an Austrian association founded in 1997 and based in Vienna. It provides information, coordination and networking for civil society organisations, NGOs, foundations and non-profit organisations in Austria and the European Union. It has around 60 member organisations, including umbrella bodies, citizens' initiatives and research institutes. The association runs EU-funded projects and citizen activities on topics such as civic dialogue, citizen participation, social inclusion of migrants, elderly people, women and youth, combating human trafficking, and volunteering. It also offers lectures and training on NGO and nonprofit management and EU project work, advises Austrian federal ministries on civic education, democratic citizenship and volunteering, and helps companies engage with NGOs on CSR. Its activities are financed through public and private project funding and member contributions.
