Český výbor pro UNICEF, operating as UNICEF Česká republika, is the Czech national committee of UNICEF. It is a special organisation representing Czech interests within international non-governmental organisations, registered in Prague. Its work centres on raising funds for long-term UNICEF programmes for children in the world's poorest countries and for humanitarian aid in natural disasters and armed conflicts. It also monitors compliance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in the Czech Republic and runs awareness and education activities for the public and professionals. Activities include research on children's wellbeing and online safety, legacy (bequest) fundraising, a gift catalogue, doll adoption and fundraising events with corporate and sports partners. It is supported by volunteers, interns and donations, and passes most donated funds directly to programmes.
