Its activities include family foster care, residential living places, maisons d'enfants à caractère social, mother-and-child shelters, socio-educational support and vocational insertion through production schools. It also runs the Institut de psychoéducation, which trains social sector professionals, and a scientific committee that works on child protection practice. Its head office is in Paris, and its work is national across France.
