Unity Foundation is a Luxembourg-based non-profit non-governmental organisation that promotes community development through education. Founded in 1980 and recognised in 1991 as an organisation of public benefit by the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, it works through local partner organisations in developing countries, currently in the Central African Republic and Malawi, to support community schools, a non-formal education programme called Preparation for Social Action, and training centres for education organisations. The foundation channels funds to its local partners, who run the projects, and emphasises community ownership, capacity building and the involvement of girls and women, with a significant share of pupils and teachers being girls and women. In Luxembourg it runs awareness-raising workshops for secondary school students and a youth network on social change, and it funds its work through government co-financing, individual donations, sponsorships and corporate partnerships such as Earn & Give payroll giving. Donations to the foundation are tax-deductible under its approved status.
