About
Utcáról Lakásba Egyesület is a non-profit association based in Hungary working on housing & homelessness, refugees & migration, employment & skills +1 more.
Utcáról Lakásba Egyesület is a Budapest-based Hungarian association that works to end homelessness and housing poverty. It develops and runs model programmes that provide independent housing for homeless people and others in need, including refurbishing unused municipal flats and renting privately owned empty homes at social rents. Its housing work is paired with intensive, trauma-aware social work that supports tenants to keep their homes and integrate socially. The association also runs employment reintegration through the Adj Munkát! programme, support for refugees and women clients, and volunteering and corporate partnership schemes. It advocates for housing as a basic human right, engages in public awareness and policy dialogue, and is the first Hungarian member of the Housing First Europe Hub network. It is funded mainly by private donations and corporate support, with EU co-funding for some projects, and does not receive state per-capita funding.
