Vakufska direkcija

Vakufska direkcija is a faith-based organisation based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina working on religion & faith, community development.

Vakufska direkcija is an institution of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina that manages waqf (charitable endowment) property and funds in the country. It administers the waqf endowment procedure, issues waqf deeds (vakufname), keeps the Book of Waqif, and supports local Islamic Community councils (medžlisi) with the development of waqf projects, including renovation and construction of mosques and other religious and social facilities. It also runs funds for social, educational and building purposes, and advocates for the restitution of nationalised waqf property. Its work is directed at the Bosniak community and at waqf property across Bosnia and Herzegovina, with headquarters in Sarajevo.
