About

Founded in 2014, VBRG is a non-profit association based in Berlin, Germany working on human rights, justice & legal aid, democracy & civil society.

VBRG e.V. is the national association of independent counselling centres for victims of right-wing, racist and antisemitic violence in Germany. Its member organisations, currently 17 to 19 counselling bodies across 14 federal states, provide free, confidential, anonymous and partisan counselling and practical support to people directly affected by attacks, threats, arson and assault, as well as to their relatives and witnesses. The association sets shared quality standards for counselling, offers training and workshops for counsellors, and runs an emergency victim support fund. It also publishes independent annual monitoring of right-wing, racist and antisemitic violence, produces guides and publications, and advocates for nationwide counselling structures and policy changes. The association is recognised as charitable by the Berlin tax office and is based in Berlin.
