The Village de l'Amitié de Van Canh is a French association supporting the Vietnam Friendship Village, a residential care centre near Hanoi, Vietnam. The Village provides medical care, housing, meals, rehabilitation and education for Vietnamese veterans and children affected by Agent Orange/dioxin, including children with severe disabilities. Its work includes vocational training for children and young people, including those from the surrounding community, and the provision of care to families. The French committee, based in Villejuif, raises funds through events such as a Christmas market, an annual charity dinner and a solidarity lottery, and sells Vietnamese handicrafts. The association also campaigns for recognition and reparations for Agent Orange victims and supports the legal action brought by Tran To Nga against US chemical companies.
