Walking With The Wounded
Newcastle, United Kingdom
About
Founded in 2011, Walking With The Wounded is a charity based in Newcastle, United Kingdom working on mental health, employment & skills.
Walking With The Wounded (WWTW) is a registered charity in England and Wales and Scotland that supports people who have served in the UK Armed Forces, and their families. It provides mental health, employment and wraparound care coordination services, including specialist caseworker support, to help beneficiaries transition back to civilian life. Its main fundraising initiative is Walking Home For Christmas, a nationwide campaign in which individuals and teams walk or take on challenges to raise money for veterans. In its Long Way Home activity, an expedition pulk used on earlier polar expeditions is pulled from The Cenotaph in London to its Newcastle office, passing through Manchester. WWTW operates across the UK and has offices in Newcastle and a hub in Manchester.
