Watsi, Inc.
San Francisco, CA, United States
About
Founded in 2011, Watsi is a charity based in San Francisco, United States working on health.
Watsi is a US-based non-profit that funds low-cost, high-impact surgical and medical care for patients in low-income countries. Patients are nominated by on-the-ground medical partners, vetted, and posted on the Watsi website, where donors can choose which patient to support. Donations are transferred to the medical partner once treatment is completed and reported back to donors. Watsi states that 100% of patient donations go to care, with operating costs covered separately by foundations, philanthropists and supporters. The organisation also runs recurring giving, corporate giving and a multi-year unrestricted giving community.
