About
Founded in 1973, WWF France is a non-governmental organisation based in Le Pré-Saint-Gervais, France working on environment & climate, nature & wildlife conservation.
WWF France, the French arm of the World Wide Fund for Nature, is a foundation recognised as being of public utility. Founded in 1973, it works to halt the degradation of the environment and build a future in which people live in harmony with nature. Its work spans conservation of endangered species and habitats, including wetlands, forests, oceans and the Mediterranean, as well as campaigns to influence public and corporate decision-makers, environmental education, and awareness projects. It runs field projects with local communities in France's overseas territories and abroad, such as in the Congo Basin, Madagascar and Mexico. The organisation is based in Le Pré-Saint-Gervais near Paris and maintains offices in Marseille, Lyon, Cayenne and Nouméa. It is funded mainly by private donors, with most of its income directed to field projects.
