WWF Magyarország

Founded in 1991, WWF Magyarország is a non-governmental organisation based in Budapest, Hungary working on nature & wildlife conservation, environment & climate, water & sanitation.

WWF Magyarország is the Hungarian branch of the international WWF network, operating since 1991 as a public-benefit foundation. It works on nature conservation in Hungary, focusing on forests, rivers and wetlands, climate protection and adaptation, and large carnivores. Its activities include field restoration projects, municipal and corporate sustainability cooperation, advocacy for protected areas and sustainable forestry, and environmental education, including school programmes. It works with national parks, authorities, civil society, schools, businesses and local communities. Its work is based in Budapest and across Hungary, particularly the Danube, Tisza and the Mura-Drava-Danube Biosphere Reserve. It is funded by private donors and corporate partners and is financially supported through the 1% personal income tax designation.
