The Zveza društev gluhih in naglušnih Slovenije (ZDGNS) is a non-governmental professional disability organisation in Slovenia that works for equal social status and rights of deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind people, including those with cochlear implants. It has 6,497 members organised in 13 inter-municipal associations and holds public-interest status in social protection for people with hearing impairments, running 11 special social programmes at national and local level. Its work covers a counselling and helpline service, sign language education and the Institute for Slovenian Sign Language (registered as a research organisation in 2015), sign language interpreting services through the associated interpreters' association, deaf sport, cultural activities, publishing (including the magazine Iz sveta tišine), television programming, accessibility advocacy, and rehabilitation and technical aids support, including subsidies and loans of assistive devices. Activities are directed at deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind people, their families and professionals, across Slovenia.
