About
2lipp is a private specializing in Energy Storage.
2lipp (Second Life for Power Plants) is a pioneering European project that transforms existing fossil fuel power plants into green energy storage hubs. The initiative demonstrates three integrated energy storage technologies: Hyme's high-temperature molten salt thermal storage system, PLS Energy Systems' second-life lithium-ion car battery system, and QuinteQ's flywheel technology. Aire's AI-powered virtual power plant platform coordinates these storage systems as a hybrid asset. Located at Bornholm's combined heat and power plant in Rønne, Denmark, the project showcases how existing infrastructure can be repurposed to support renewable energy integration without compromising grid stability. The project is co-funded by the European Union under Horizon Europe grant agreement No. 101096672 and involves international partners including DTU, Bornholms Energi & Forsyning, and PINI Solutions.
