Founded in 2020, 3beLiEVe is a ngo headquartered in Vienna, Austria specializing in Energy Storage.

3beLiEVe is a Horizon 2020 project coordinated by AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, running from January 2020 to June 2023. The project aims to develop and demonstrate production of generation 3b high-energy LNMO (lithium-nickel-manganese-oxide) cells with integrated sensors, suitable for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Key objectives include developing cobalt and natural graphite-free battery cells, integrating advanced sensors for smart operating strategies and diagnostics, designing for circular economy with emphasis on reuse and recyclability, and improving manufacturing quality through machine learning. The consortium comprises 21 partners from 10 European countries, including industrial companies, SMEs, research and technology organizations, and academia. The project will deliver 250 prototype cells and two demonstrator battery packs at TRL 6/MRL 8, targeting commercial availability around 2025.
