About
Founded in 2012, 4dh is a renewable energy company headquartered in Aalborg, Denmark specializing in Energy Storage.
4dh is an international research centre supported by the Danish Council for Strategic Research. It develops 4th generation district heating (4GDH) technologies and systems through collaboration between industry, universities, and the public sector. The centre operates three core research areas: component development, resource planning tools using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and planning tools for integration with electricity systems. 4GDH systems enable utilization of renewable energy sources while meeting low-energy building requirements and supporting energy conservation in existing buildings. The research focuses on lower and more flexible distribution temperatures, thermal storage, heat pump integration, and optimization of district heating networks across Europe and Asia.
