ACCEPT is an EU-funded initiative focused on establishing energy communities with a collective approach to bring citizens, local businesses, and organizations together to produce and consume locally generated renewable energy. The project develops and delivers a digital toolbox that enables energy communities to offer innovative digital services to reduce fossil fuel dependency and household energy consumption. The toolbox features a Consumer Digital Twin model, blockchain-based P2P exchange platform, and integrated energy community management tools. The project involves demonstrations and validation at four pilot sites (Greece, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland) engaging over 3,000 people and 750 residences. Key objectives include creating secure and interoperable digital infrastructure, developing consumer engagement methodologies, designing compound service offerings and business models for demand response markets, and establishing living labs for real-world testing and community participation.
