About
Agri-Cool is a ngo specializing in Hydrogen, Energy Storage.
Agri-Cool is an EU-funded initiative revolutionizing sustainable agriculture in Africa through innovative, renewable energy-powered cooling and thermal storage systems. The project develops containerized solutions featuring photovoltaic technology, phase change material thermal energy storage, and smart control systems designed for remote rural areas with limited infrastructure access. Core objectives include reducing post-harvest food losses and waste, minimizing reliance on fossil fuel generators, and enhancing supply chain efficiency. The initiative includes comprehensive training programs for farmers, technicians, and engineers to ensure local installation, operation, and maintenance capabilities. Demonstration sites are being deployed across South Africa, Cape Verde, Somalia, and Zimbabwe over a planned three-year phase. The project aligns with African climate commitments under the Paris Agreement and targets enhanced food security, economic growth, and climate resilience in the agricultural sector.
