About

Founded in 2010, ALFA Project is a ngo headquartered in Denmark specializing in Biogas.

ALFA is a multidisciplinary research and consulting initiative funded by the European Union through the Horizon Europe program. The project promotes the adoption of biogas systems in the livestock farming sector across Greece, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Belgium, and Slovakia. ALFA supports farmers through business, technical, and financial services to overcome implementation challenges. The project establishes regional hubs and develops tools including a Decision Support Tool to assess biogas viability, an Atlas Map of successful case studies, and a Biogas Forum for stakeholder engagement. Activities include mutual learning workshops, field visits, capacity-building, and awareness campaigns targeting policymakers, farmers, and the general public.
