Asociatia Energia Inteligenta is a non-governmental organization dedicated to addressing extreme energy poverty in Romania. The association implements the 'Energie pentru Viață' (Energy for Life) project, which installs photovoltaic panels in isolated, unelectrified households located in mountainous regions with difficult access and no realistic prospects of connection to the national electricity grid. As of 2025, the project has electrified 71 households across 35 isolated settlements in eight Romanian counties (Alba, Harghita, Vrancea, Bistrița Năsăud, Cluj, Mureș, Hunedoara, and Buzău). In partnership with the Ministry of Energy, the association developed RENGEER—the National Electronic Registry of Unelectrified Households in Romania—which identified 5,494 households without electricity housing 11,611 people, including 4,777 minors. The organization also advocates for green energy transition policies and has received recognition through multiple awards for its sustainability and social impact initiatives.
