Founded in 2023, Battery2Life is a ngo specializing in Energy Storage.
Battery2Life is a Horizon Europe-funded consortium project comprising 11 partners (5 research organizations, 4 industrial partners, 1 SME, 1 standardization body) working to facilitate the transition of used electric vehicle batteries to second-life applications. The project develops open, adaptable cloud-based Battery Management Systems (BMS), improved system design frameworks, and AI-based diagnostic tools for assessing and reconfiguring battery modules. Key deliverables include wireless hybrid edge-cloud BMS architectures, second-life battery sizing tools, state estimation algorithms, and sustainable business models to boost competitiveness of the European battery industry while supporting domestic and grid-scale energy storage demonstrations.
