Biogaslochem (Stichting Stimulering Biogas Lochem en Omgeving) facilitates biogas production and climate-related advisory for agricultural operations in East Netherlands. The organization coordinates a biogas hub connecting multiple dairy farms that digest livestock manure to produce biogas. The biogas is conditioned through desulfurization, drying, and quality analysis before being transported via dedicated pipeline networks to end-users. The system enables small-scale farm digesters (from approximately 30 m³/hour) to achieve economic viability by sharing conditioning and metering costs. Primary customers include industrial users such as milk processing facilities that can replace natural gas consumption. The model preserves agricultural practices including pasture grazing while capturing methane that would otherwise be released to the atmosphere. Digestate from the process is utilized as fertilizer, completing a circular agricultural model. The foundation provides technical advice on stable modifications, animal nutrition, and anaerobic digestion optimization.
