BioTheRoS is a collaborative European research initiative combining technical research on thermochemical advanced biofuel production pathways (pyrolysis and gasification) with interdisciplinary research. The project aims to sustainably develop both value chains through feedstock selection, pilot experimental validation, scale-up simulation and modelling, and integration of carbon capture and utilization (CCU) with renewable hydrogen. Key objectives include establishing predictive AI models for biomass demand forecasting, assessing global policy frameworks supporting advanced biofuels, evaluating market dynamics for heavy-duty, aviation and marine transport applications, and facilitating international knowledge sharing and cooperation for cost-effective, sustainable scale-up of thermochemical biofuel technologies.
