Coöperatieve Vereniging Bossche Windmolen West is a non-profit energy cooperative founded in September 2016 to enable local citizens and small businesses in s-Hertogenbosch to collectively own and benefit from renewable energy production. The cooperative owns and operates one Nordex N117/3600 wind turbine on Windpark De Rietvelden, which became operational in September 2021. Members purchase Bossche Windmolen Delen (BWD) equity shares representing 250 kWh of guaranteed annual green electricity production. Generated electricity is sold to energy supplier Pure Energie, with members receiving annual energy credits (discounts) on their electricity bills. The cooperative is governed by volunteer board members and operates without profit motive. All revenues support member discounts, educational initiatives, environmental projects, and funding of new renewable energy ventures within the municipality. The cooperative contributes to s-Hertogenbosch's 2050 climate neutrality goal.
