About
Founded in 2021, Bretisun is a co-op headquartered in Thorigné-Fouillard, France specializing in Solar.
Bretisun is a collaborative citizen solar energy project coordinated by EnergiV and developed by Galileo Energies Nouvelles. It transforms six former non-hazardous waste storage sites (ISDND) that are agronomically unsuitable for farming into solar power fields across Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany. The project is driven by local municipalities owning the land and involves three established renewable energy cooperatives: CIREN (founded 2019, 160 members, 474 kWc installed), Centrales Villageoises Rance Émeraude/CVRE (founded 2021, 130 members, 236 kWc installed), and La SCIC Les Survoltés (founded 2018, 136 members). The six solar fields are located in Cornillé, Le Verger, Rennes Hautes Gayeulles, Baguer-Pican, Tinténiac, and Dinard. Estimated annual electricity production is 16.4 GWh, equivalent to powering approximately 14,000 homes and increasing departmental photovoltaic production by 7.4%. Public investment is available through 10-year member current accounts at 5% annual interest.
