CarbonX is a battery anode materials company developing a more sustainable and cost-efficient alternative to graphite for batteries. Founded in 2007 as a spin-off from Delft University of Technology, the company has scaled from laboratory discovery to commercial production. Its patented 3D carbon network material and emulsion feedstock technology enable high-performance, fast-charging anode active materials. CarbonX manufactures in carbon-black plants worldwide to create localized supply chains and counter graphite supply shortages. The company serves global automotive and energy storage clients, partnering with leading industry players for material qualification. CarbonX aims to reach 400 GWh production capacity by 2030.
