The Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETPartnership) is a multilateral and strategic partnership co-funded by the European Union that brings together public and private stakeholders in research and innovation ecosystems from European and non-European countries and regions. It aims to create transnational innovation ecosystems, overcome fragmented research landscapes, and accelerate the energy transition toward climate neutrality by 2050. The partnership pools national and regional RDTI funding from 30 countries and implements annual joint calls (2022-2027) structured around 7 Transition Research Initiatives (TRIs) addressing key challenges: integrated net-zero energy systems, enhanced zero-emission power technologies, storage technologies and renewable fuels with CCU/CCS, efficient zero-emission heating and cooling, integrated regional energy systems, integrated industrial energy systems, and built environment integration. TRIs focus on enabling technologies including energy conversion, storage, carbon treatment, electrification, and power-to-x solutions.
