Founded in 2018, ChargeWheel is a private headquartered in San Francisco, United States specializing in Energy Storage.

ChargeWheel builds two core products: (1) UpGrid, a modular DC-coupled battery energy storage system (BESS) with 180–370 kWh LFP cabinets, native 800V DC output, supercapacitor buffer, and liquid cooling. It consolidates UPS, peak-shaving BESS, and diesel backup into a single cabinet, replacing traditional three-system stacks. (2) ChargeWheel EV Chargers, a family of modular DC fast chargers ranging from 10 kW to 400 kW with OCPP 2.0.1 native support, CCS1/NACS connectors, ISO 15118 Plug & Charge, and tap-to-pay. Both AC-input (480V utility tie) and DC-input (direct from UpGrid BESS or solar PV) variants are available. UpGrid OS is the real-time energy management system providing AI-driven load forecasting, battery dispatch, peak-charge optimization, and integration via OCPP, Modbus TCP, SNMP, and REST. All systems are UL 1973, UL 9540A, UL 2202, and CSA C22.2 certified. Deployment takes approximately 90 days with no utility interconnection approval required.
