Founded in 2018, Circusol is a ngo specializing in Solar.
Circusol stands for Circular Business Models for the Solar Power Industry. It is an Innovation Action project funded by the Horizon 2020 programme of the European Commission. The project aims to develop and demonstrate product-service system business models for the solar power sector, focusing on circular economy principles. The consortium includes 5 research centres and universities alongside 9 industrial partners from 8 countries. A central activity is validating circular solar service models through five large-scale demonstrators. The project addresses the growing challenge of PV module recycling as solar installations expand globally, with current modules not designed for circularity.
