About

Founded in 2014, Coöperatie DE Ramplaan is a co-op headquartered in Haarlem, Netherlands specializing in Solar.

Coöperatie DE Ramplaan is a community-based energy cooperative established in April 2014 to operate a solar photovoltaic installation with 1,347 panels on the roof of Firma Thoolen in Haarlem's Westelijk Tuinbouwgebied. The cooperative was founded by Stichting DE Ramplaan with support from the Municipality of Haarlem. Members finance the installation by purchasing solar shares (initially €272 per share), each generating approximately 225 kWh annually. The cooperative benefits from the Dutch postcode roof regulation (Regeling Verlaagd Tarief), allowing members to offset energy tax on their generated electricity. Generated electricity is sold to energy suppliers; currently via Greenchoice (since September 2018). Members receive annual dividend distributions and energy tax reductions. The installation was the largest collective local energy generation project in the Netherlands using the postcode roof regulation at the time of its completion.
