About

Founded in 2017, Crossbow Project is a government specializing in Wind, Solar, Biomass.

CROSSBOW is a Horizon 2020-funded research and innovation project that demonstrates technological solutions for cross-border management of variable renewable energies and storage units. The project, which ran from November 2017 to April 2022, involved 24 partners from 13 European countries, including 8 national Transmission System Operators. Key objectives include improving control of cross-border balancing energy at interconnection points, developing distributed and centralized storage solutions, enhancing ICT and communications for grid observability, and establishing a transnational wholesale market with fair remuneration for clean energies. The project delivered nine tools and technologies validated through demonstration clusters in South-Eastern Europe, contributing to increased renewable energy penetration, reduced network operational costs, and improved grid flexibility.
