DECODE
DE-centralised Cloud labs fOr the inDustrialisation of Energy materials
About
DECODE is a ngo specializing in Hydrogen, Energy Storage.
DECODE is a collaborative research project funded by the European Commission (Grant Agreement 101084131) that aims to overcome the fragmentation in clean energy materials development by creating an advanced pan-European future lab concept. The project connects multiple laboratories to accelerate materials innovation through a cloud-based platform that integrates characterization and modeling methods. Key components include the DECODE FABRIC (a matrix structure mapping methods and tools), the IRL Assessment (scoring system for evaluating tools), and the DECODE CPU (an AI-enabled digital agent orchestrating workflows). The demonstration focuses on polymer electrolyte fuel cells with integration of novel fluorine-free ionic polymers, with transferability to water electrolysis and other electrochemical energy technologies. The platform facilitates multi-scale, multi-technique characterization and data-driven modeling to accelerate development of sustainable, high-performance materials for Europe's green energy transition.
